About Buffalo Triathlon Club

btc-group.pngThe BTC was founded in January of 1997, in Buffalo, New York, and has been growing ever since. By 2011 we had more than 400 members of various athletic abilities and levels, and by 2012 we had more than 500! The club membership interests represent full & half Ironman, Olympic, Sprint, Duathlon racing and training, as well as members who just enjoy swimming, biking, or running and everything in between.

The goal of the BTC is to promote multisports (triathlon, duathlon, etc), and bring people together for training, racing, and fun! Whether you are a veteran of many races, or someone who is just thinking about trying one, this club is for you! The BTC is open to anyone wishing to join and abide by our club by-laws. We have members of all ages and skill levels, and advanced club members are always eager to help out those that are new to the sport. The BTC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and contributes generously to various charities throughout the year. Charities below represent some of the organizations the club has donated to recently.

  • Roswell Park Cancer Institute
  • DeSales Catholic School in Lockport NY (in memory of Tim Chesko)
  • Lockport YMCA & Camp Kenan
  • Hunter’s Hope
  • Dunlop Ride for Charity (benefits Make-a-Wish foundation in WNY, & Roswell Park)
  • Teens Living with Cancer
  • LiveSTRONG Foundation
  • Haven House
  • Grant’s Gang
